LKB1, found mutated in Peutz-Jeughers Syndrome, is a kinase localized to the nucleus. It is also known by the name STK11, serine-threonine kinase 11. LKB1 phosphorylates and activates AMPK, AMP-activated kinase, which is involved in stress responses and glucose metabolism. LKB1 is found on chromosome 19p13.3.
