MLH1, Mut L Homologue-1, is a DNA mismatch repair gene, found on chromosome 3p21.3. The MLH1 gene is found in HNPCC2, Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colon Cancer Type 2, which is rarer than FAP and colon adenomas. It represents about 15% of colon cancers and of the non-adenocarcinoma type.
