Neurofibromin 2 also known as merlin, is NF-2 gene, which a cell membrane component. Mutations are seen in Neurofibromatosis Type 2, and in Schwann cell tumors and many brain tumors such as astrocytomas. NF-2 is found on chromosome 22q12.2.
